The Center for Sustainable Ecology and Emergent Livelihoods (CSEEL) works towards developing programmes to enhance the understanding of sustainable ecology and emerging livelihoods. It aspires to be a rich multi-disciplinary resource base in areas of science, nature study, health, development, and environment along with promoting emerging livelihoods that sprout as adaptive strategies to challenges like climate-change.
The CSEEL functions as an independent center that has inherited the vision and values of Project Kalpavriksh Society. The first CSEEL hub is founded in Irukkam Island of Pulicat Lake.
CSEEL works towards environmental action through field-level and demonstration projects which could be scaled-up and replicated. CSEEL undertakes projects that endorse attitudes, strategies and technologies which are environmentally sustainable.
